Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den betting is banned. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; still, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are supposedly needed to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 table games, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel complex that features numerous luxuries accompanying the gambling den, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
